It was my last day at MediaNama today and I would be lying if I said I am not emotional. Learned a lot during these 18 months working under Nikhil and his guidance. But then it’s time to move on.
I remember Annkur Agarwal had once said “how can you report & analyse businesses when you don’t have first experience with it.” He then left Onlygizmos (I’m quite proud that my friend Rahul Srinivas is now handling the site) and founded Pricebaba.com, a price comparison service. This stuck with me since then.
I am starting my next chapter now with ClassMatrix.com, an online platform for teachers to evaluate, measure & report student performance. This project is closer to my heart as I truly believe that education and learning can uplift this country and this I speak from the stories I hear from my parents.
However, it’s also true that education system needs to change in the sense how students are taught. Students need to be able to think and analyze, which current education system does not focus on. This is possible only when teachers get enough time and motivation to teach. ClassMatrix.com is a small initiative for the same.
Besides this, as you know the Digital Media Newsletter (DMN) that I started as a hobby in May 2013 was shut down couple of weeks ago. I have some good news: I will be continuing the newsletter from Monday (October 7, 2013). There’re couple of ways to reach the daily digital media summary – 1] open Techknots.com from your browser or 2] subscribe to the newsletter option on the site (some of you are reading this on email and in case you want to remove yourself from the list, there’s an unsubscribe button at the bottom of this email.)
I hope to learn a thing or two.
Cheers.
